How To Clear Acne Breakouts & Stop It From Coming Back Again

If you’ve been trying to get rid of stubborn pimples for a long time and they keep coming back then STOP doing whatever you’ve been doing and listen.

Think about it.

When you have pimples, the first thing you usually think about is how to clear it out asap right?. But what if that is why your acne breakouts keep coming and going.

You have been focusing all your efforts and skincare routine on making your face smoother…so you see some progress today, your acne starts reducing and it’s as though what you’re using is working then before you know the thing pops out again from nowhere and you’re back to square one.

The pimple you see on your face is not the problem

The main problem is the clog underneath your skin kicking and brewing.

The problem is that the treatments you used all tried to target the pimples directly instead of focusing on the thing that is causing the acne in the first place.

See it this way,

If you want to stop banditry, do you go after the bandits or go after their sponsors? Obviously you go after the sponsors because that’s the centre of gravity of the problem.

Exact same logic applies to your face.

To clear acne breakouts once and for all, you need to first identify and target the root cause (sponsors) not the pimple (bandits)

Every pimple you see today began weeks ago, as a clog you could not see.

Think of your face as thousands of tiny pipes. Each pore is a pipe with an oil gland at the bottom, and its job is to carry oil up to the surface.

In acne-prone skin, the dead cells that line the pipe do not shed the way they should. They stick together, mix with oil and form a tiny clog deep inside the pore.

You cannot see it. You cannot feel it. But behind that clog, oil keeps building. The bacteria that live on everyone's skin feed on the trapped oil. The pore swells and gets inflamed.

Only then, weeks after the clog formed, do you finally see a pimple.

Now look at what most acne treatments do:

Soaps and scrubs clean the surface. The clog is inside the pore.
Drying creams dry out the pimple you can already see. The next clog is forming.
Antibacterial treatments kill bacteria. The clog stays where it is, and the bacteria return.

That is why your acne "clears" and then comes back in the same places. You have been mopping the floor while the pipe is still blocked.

But I used benzoyl peroxide. Isn't that the strong one?

If you have had acne for years, you have either tried it or heard of it.

Honestly, Benzoyl peroxide works. It kills acne bacteria, and dermatologists still rate it highly.

If it cleared your skin and your skin tolerates it, keep using it.

But if it didn’t work for you, this is because Benzoyl peroxide's main job is killing bacteria. It calms the angry pimples you can see. But it does far less to dissolve the oily clog that starts every breakout, so new ones keep forming behind the old.

And that’s where salicylic acid has a small edge.

While Benzoyl peroxide fights the bacteria inside a blocked pore. Salicylic acid unblocks the pore.

How salicylic acid gets inside the pore

Your pores are full of oil. Most skincare ingredients dissolve in water, but water and oil do not mix. So they sit on the surface and never reach the plug.

Salicylic acid is different. It is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA), which is oil-soluble. It can travel through the oil, down into the pore, to exactly where the clogged pore sits.

The 3 Reasons Why Salicylic Acid Works Like a Charm

It dissolves the glue. It loosens the bonds that hold dead skin cells together, so the plug breaks apart.
It clears the oil. It cuts through the built-up sebum so the pore can drain.
It calms the skin. Salicylic acid is a chemical cousin of aspirin and has anti-inflammatory properties, so it eases redness while it works.

Fewer clogged pores, fewer pimples. You stop chasing breakouts and start preventing them.

I already tried a salicylic acid face wash. It did nothing.

That is probably true, and there is a simple reason.

A face wash sits on your skin for under a minute, then goes down the drain. That is not much time for the acid to work its way into a blocked pore.

Salicylic acid is most effective in leave-on products, where it has more time on the skin.
One product, on your face for one minute, was never going to undo years of congestion.

The pore needs salicylic acid at every stage. When you wash. After you wash. On the active spot. In your moisturiser. And once a week, in a deep clean.

That is what the Neutriherbs Salicylic Acid range was built to do.

Six products with six unique jobs:
Each product puts salicylic acid on the pore in a different way and for a different length of time.

Step 1. The Cleanser clears the way

Its job is to lift oil, sweat, sunscreen and the day's grime without stripping your skin.

It is a silky gel with salicylic acid, tea tree oil and two soothing root extracts.

Step 2. The Toner is where treatment starts

This is the first product that stays on your skin, so the acid finally gets the contact time a face wash cannot give.

It pairs salicylic acid (BHA) with lactic acid (AHA). The BHA works inside the pore. The AHA lifts dull, dead cells off the surface.

It is alcohol-free. Niacinamide evens skin tone and strengthens the skin barrier, which hazel helps with oil, and panthenol and beta-glucan soothe.

Pat it on after cleansing. If your skin is sensitive, start with nights only.

Step 3. The Serum does the deep work

This is the strongest salicylic acid step in the routine: 2%, two to four times the Toner's strength, in a light fluid that stays on your skin overnight.

If the Toner starts the work, the Serum finishes it. Salicylic acid goes after the clogs beneath the surface, where blackheads and whiteheads form. A touch of glycolic acid smooths rough texture on top. Hyaluronic acid stops it drying your skin out, and tea tree oil and camellia extract calm it.

Step 4. The Spot Treatment handles today's pimple

A cooling, fast-drying gel you dab straight onto a breakout.

Salicylic acid goes after the clog. Niacinamide, the second ingredient on the list, works on the mark the pimple would leave behind.

Bisabolol, centella, allantoin and panthenol calm the redness.

Start with once a day. Do not use it on popped or broken skin.

Step 5. The Face Cream is the step most acne routines skip

Here is the mistake nearly everyone with oily skin makes: no moisturiser.

Acne treatments exfoliate. Skin that is exfoliated and never rehydrated turns tight, flaky and irritated. That is the moment most people abandon a routine that was working.

This is a light gel-cream that hydrates and treats in one step. Salicylic acid and lactobionic acid, a gentle PHA, keep pores clear. Niacinamide balances oil and fades acne marks. Ceramide, panthenol and centella repair the skin barrier.

It absorbs fast and does not feel sticky. Use it morning and night as your last step, before sunscreen in the morning.

Step 6. The Clay Mask is your weekly reset

Once or twice a week, kaolin clay soaks up oil from the surface and just inside the pores while salicylic acid loosens what is stuck there. Niacinamide and allantoin calm redness.

Hyaluronic acid keeps your skin from feeling tight afterwards.

Smooth it onto clean, damp skin, leave it for 10 minutes and rinse.

How To Use The whole routine Step by Step

Morning

Cleanser, Toner (once your skin is used to it), Face Cream, sunscreen.

Night

Cleanser, Toner, Serum (three nights a week to start), Spot Treatment on active pimples, Face Cream.

Once or twice a week

Clay Mask after cleansing. Skip the Serum that night, and the Toner too if your skin is new to acids.

One rule

Wear sunscreen every morning. Exfoliating acids make skin more sensitive to the sun, and sun on a healing pimple is how dark marks set in.

After that. Keep going. Your pores make new plugs all the time, so clear skin is something you

Pregnant or breastfeeding. Check with your doctor before starting any new active ingredient.
Allergic to aspirin or salicylates. Do not use salicylic acid.

Why a cleansing oil belongs in an acne routine?

Oil dissolves oil.

By evening, sunscreen, makeup and a day of sebum sit on your face as an oily film. A water-based wash struggles to shift all of it.

Massage the cleansing oil onto dry skin first. It melts that film, turns milky when you add water and rinses clean. Neutriherbs describes it as non-comedogenic and suitable for oily and acne-prone skin.

Then the Salicylic Acid Cleanser goes on as your second cleanse and reaches bare skin. It is called double cleansing, and it gives every step after it a clear path to the pore.
